Piper Green
We had a wonderful time in Ocracoke and enjoyed our stay at Piper Green! The house has a lot of natural light and feels like being in a tree house. We enjoyed the screened in porch, and listening to the frogs and watching the birds. We went for many bike rides and greatly enjoyed the sites and sounds of the island. My children loved riding past the Ocracats and spotting them. I have been coming to Ocracoke with my family since I was in college, and was so happy to be able to share it with my husband and children."

Nice place
We enjoyed our stay at Piper Green. We would stay here again. We liked the natural lighting with the many windows. We spent lots of time on the screen porch. Nice place. "

Piper Green was perfect for our family vacation. The kids loved the couches for afternoon naps, the open and airy design gave lots of natural light, and the screened porches have Adirondack rockers for sitting outside at night without mosquitos! The kitchen is small, but serviceable, and everything was sparkling clean. Location is just off the busy streets, with a couple of dead end streets nearby, great for getting used to riding our bikes. Definitely would stay in this home again. "

The location of the home is nice - very peaceful, lots of natural light. The screened in porches are nice. However, it feels like the owners have lost interest in the house. Most of the screens are missing from the windows which meant we couldnt open the windows. The AC worked minimally at best so the house pretty stuffy in the afternoons. I was tempted to buy a fan to help out upstairs. Installing a ceiling fan in the main room would really help to cool the house. Many of the lights are burnt out making it dangerous to go upstairs in the house at night. Bulbs also burnt out in both bathrooms. The furniture is older but still comfortable. However, the covers on the furniture could be replaced (they smell musty). The kitchen has the basics but it could use some measuring cups and spoons. The laundry is in a separate building but that wasnt a big deal.Overall, the stay was nice but could have been better if some TLC is given to the house."

This was our first time on the island. The island is beautiful and everyone was so friendly! Piper Green is a nice house for book lovers and nature lovers. We had a problem with the trash. The renters before us left a lot of stinky trash and when we had to leave Wednesday, trash was still there. Advise for someone coming to the island for the first time, pack every thing you think you will need and rent a golf cart. Golf carts make getting around easier. Wish we had more time to sight see, but Michael had other plans for us. Until next year Ocracoke!"

This was our 4th year visiting the island and 2nd year staying for a week in a Ocracoke Island Reality home. Piper Green was perfect for what we needed. Loved the location as it was very private. Parking is not close to the house but that was fine for us. It seemed pretty dark at night in the house but we did not mind. Also it's pretty dark walking down the steps so beware if you are going anywhere at night. I had missed a step and hurt my ankle. Would for sure rent the Piper Green when we come back! "

We stayed at Piper Green for 2 weeks at the end of June. We had never been to the outer banks before so it was quite an adventure.Piper Green was perfect for us, Quiet, sunny and just the right size. (we liked the laundry down the lane) I have to tell you that it was the best vacation we ever had at the beach. We loved the quiet, we loved the fact that we could drive our car out on the beach. We loved the ferry and just everything about the village. We loved learning the history of Ocracoke too. We liked it so much that we have already booked our vacation for next year and my husband and I are looking for a little getaway this fall!"

We loved staying in Piper Green. It is nestled in the trees of a spacious property. We shared it with birds, turtles, and frogs. Maybe the best lot in the village (not on the water). The cottage has a great layout with a two story living room and plenty of porches. There were a couple of quirks that we noticed:The upstairs bedroom may actually have a queen bed- our full sheets didnt fit. The edge of the mowed grass area has lots of poison ivy and the outdoor shower wasnt turned on. "
