Enjoy beautiful sunset views and a sandy beach at this much sought after pet-friendly vacation home on Northern Pond (a great cove on Pamlico Sound). Kayak the calm waters and delight in the expansive water views. The interior features a large open living area with classic cottage style decor. The well-equipped kitchen and modern appliances make your stay comfortable and convenient for family gatherings. The various outdoor areas offer serene water views certain to maximize relaxation.
3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths: 2 with King, 1 with two Pyramid Beds (double on bottom and twin on top).
Amenities include complimentary wireless internet access, 3 smart TVs. There is no cable or satellite service available. Central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, The kitchen features Keurig home brewing system in addition to a standard coffee maker. Washer and dryer.
Fireplace is not available.
Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival, with the exception of the top bunks.
The exterior offers a screened porch, and multiple decks including the popular waterfront deck with hammock, hot/cold outdoor shower, and gas grill. Picked Ocra offers one double kayak and one single kayak. Life jackets are not provided, if you wish to rent them, please contact Ride The Wind Surf Shop. They will be happy to assist.
Dock and Beach: Guests of Pickled Ocra are invited to enjoy the sandy beach in front of the home and the shared dock. Boat dockage is not available. The end of the shared dock is reserved for the neighboring property. No fish bench available.
Pet Friendly - Dogs Only. Limit of 2 Dogs.
No Smoking. Limit of 3 vehicles.
Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival.

First Floor: Open floor plan with den, living area with TV, dining and kitchen. Hallway half bath. Laundry room.
Second Floor: Master Bedroom with King bed, TV, and Master Bath with tub/shower. Bedroom with King bed, TV. Bedroom with two Pyramid Beds (double on bottom and twin on top). Hallway Bath with tub/shower.
"Absolutely LOVED this house! It was the perfect way to spend Thanksgiving week with the family. The views are spectacular. The home is open and roomy with lots of seating options and has so much storage! The kitchen was extremely well equipped — we especially liked the griddle feature of the stove. "Great house. Well appointed and wonderful view. My reason for 4 star relates to the faulty door lock, with the leaver falling off on the inside from day 1. Time to upgrade to a keyless lock!"

"Fabulous views and great home with a yard for dogs to play and enjoy with the whole family - My two Adult boys with their wives and 2 year old grandson had a fabulous time each with a dog they can't leave behind. "We had a wonderful stay at Pickled Okra. The location of the house was wonderful with the ocean sound directly behind the house. The house was comfortable but could use a bit of TLC on a few minor things that would make it 5 star. The blinds in the ensuite bathroom upstairs were torn up with gaps in them when we arrived and this is an inexpensive, easy fix. The primary bed was made up with a blanket rather than a bedspread on top. This would have been fine, but there was a hole in the blanket. None of this is a big deal, but just letting you know. 1st impressions matter. We did not have any dish towels during our stay, so found some older pillow shams over the washer & dryer and used those to dry dishes with. Also there was not a quest house book with instructions for things like trash pick up & recycling rules. But outside of these things, we had a great time. Used the kayaks which is wonderful to have with the property. Cooked in a lot and found the kitchen to have most things we needed. As other quests have mentioned in the guest book on the coffee table.... the front door is a real bear to lock & unlock easily with the key. A keyless entry would be a great addition. Positively the best / most parking I have had a an Ocracoke house. And I found the interior downstairs to be much larger and comfortable than it appeared in the pictures. Very nice home.... with a GREAT backyard & few. Just needs a bit of attention to small details."

"We loved this house and the location. Amazing views from practically everywhere. Both primary bedrooms have a water view, which is so rare. The two adult bedrooms are very equal in size and amenity, which is also rare. We so appreciated that. If it hadn't been so windy we'd have easily been able to SUP and kayak from the little beach. Easy bike rides all around the village. The house is still using keys rather than the combo system and the front door was very hard to lock inside and out. "

"December 2016 Stay I stayed here for ten days. It is a wonderful place. The views of the sound from the dining room table, the screened in porch and the second story balcony are nothing short of amazing. The hammock on the upstairs balcony is just great. I have a black lab and he loved the beach and the easy access to the sound that it provided. I enjoyed checking the beach each morning to see what had been added or removed by the waves.As has always been my experience, the staff at Ocracoke Island Realty were invariably accommodating, courteous and helpful. The house is within fairly easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants in the village. All in all the house is as close to perfection as you could find for an Ocracoke get away. "
