"Pros: -Location - walkable to coffee restaurants, tram and harbor. Just great! -Property - trees, grass, and modest landscaping makes for a pleasant mix of shade and sun. The yard was great for hanging out and for kids and dog.
-Outdoor living spaces - front porch is AWESOME- super cozy with the day bed and fans. Back screened porch is small (wish the dinner table could fit bc it is BUGGY!) but it’s delightful just the same and looks into the marsh. The deck could use a chaise or two (or a grill!) but is expansive and welcoming.
-Well-stocked kitchen: good quality pots and pans, blender, grill tools, etc
-Main living area: spacious and uncluttered. Very comfortable and nicer furniture than the average beach house. Cons: - Barn doors on two of bedrooms means a lack of privacy and sound buffering. This was a real drag given that the bedrooms are in such close proximity to the main living area. Why!? -No towel racks in the bathrooms. Seems like a minor detail, but really annoying at the beach. -no outdoor shower and hose nozzle was broken. Made for a lot of sand in the house. -stove top - not very powerful. If you plan to cook a large meal add time for boiling large amount of water etc. -grill is a picnic park style open form grills w no lid and is rusty. "

"Off season getaway - Great open floor plan. Perfect for enjoying everyone’s company after the beach in a quaint cozy setting. Easy for dogs to maneuver through. Great location with nice outdoor lighting."

"This is our 3rd time coming to stay at Graceland! Every year just gets better and better. We absolutely LOVE coming down here! The house, the location, the front porch, everything about it is perfect. The convenience of this beach is my favorite!! Being able to load up the truck and drive right up to your spot on the beach is AMAZING (especially with a little one, it’s an absolute game changer). We already have our next stay booked, and are counting down the days! "

"It's our 2nd summer vacation staying in Graceland Cottage. The property is perfect, but it needs some TLC. The weekly rate went up considerably from last summer, but no repairs or replacements were completed. We like to cook, but the range hood lights/exhaust were inoperable and had to light the stove manually with a lighter. Den furniture could use cleaning or replacing. Overall, Graceland is the perfect property for 6 and the location perfect. Just needs some attention, especially when the weekly rental rate continues to go up. "

"Great house and location. - Very nice property with a large vacant lot provided privacy even though it was right on the Back Road. The deck and screened in porch were especially nice on the couple of good weather days we had; and the large living area and well equipped kitchen were fine on the rainy ones. We no longer have a dog, but if we did, the fenced area on the side was particularly well thought out, with both sand and grass areas, a water spigot right in the middle, and an enclosed place with a floor just underneath the house to get out of the sun or rain."

Unbeatable location
You can't beat the location of this house--halfway between Zillie's and Ocracoke Coffee, for all of your drinking and hanging out needs. The tram also stops at both of those places, so you can catch a ride over to the lighthouse or Howard's Pub without having to walk or drive. The house itself has been completely refurbished (not sure whether due to Hurricane Dorian or just because), so it's beautiful inside and out. Another plus: not a ton of stairs to climb to get into the house. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is well-stocked, and the porches/decks are wonderful for chilling with a book and a beverage. If you need a 3 BR, 2 BA place, this is the one to get. "
