"It was great. Love the Mary Fisher. Just FYI, the upstairs toilet sometimes runs after flushing - we had to jiggle the flapper a few times. Also would love if the screen on the screen porch could be fixed. But not a big deal. We will rebook for next year! "

"Our family loved our time in Ocracoke and we can't wait to go back! Our house needed some updates, but overall served the purpose. We absolutely loved the location of the house."

"We love the location of the house. Great view of the lighthouse from a couple bedroom windows, only wished there was a porch on that side of the house to enjoy the sunset and view of the lighthouse. Generally the house is great to stay but with some minor things that could be updated/changed to make our stay a five star rating. The AC was wonky at times and it didn’t work the day we got there and needed an emergency window unit because the downstairs was 81 degrees that night. The blower on the AC wouldn’t even turn on. However the issue was addressed immediately! Thank you! There was not a hose or outside shower to wash all our things off from the beach. There was a spigot to use, but a hose would have been more helpful. The cleaners, bug killer supplies, light bulbs, baskets, etc left in the kitchen pantry left hardly any room for our food we brought and made the pantry smell like chemicals. The carpet upstairs had stains that looks like they didn’t treat and probably could come clean if treated. Even though there was a screened in porch, the bottom of the porch did not have a cover and mosquitoes got in through the cracks of the boards and was not able to be enjoyed as hoped. The promised initial supply of toilet paper, paper towels, and dish soap was not provided, however we did bring our own but had to be unpacked for our kids to use the bathroom when we first got there. All things considered, we would probably consider staying here again overall."

"Our stay was great. Enjoyed some upgrades to the Mary Fisher kitchen, and had very quick response from maintenance to fix a running toilet. Thank you!"

"The cottage has plenty of hot water and cool air. Furnishings and kitchen "tools" could use some updates for comfort."

"May 2016 Stay - I stayed in Mary Fisher for 6 weeks and found a real home away from home with all the comforts I needed (apart from the TV which I south of The Ark!). The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed with everything I needed to cook dinners for one and dinners for 6. The screened porch was lovely and cool, catching the breeze in the afternoon - a delightful place to sit and watch the world go by. The location of the house is ideal - easy biking distance to the village and walking distance of my favourite place on Ocracoke - Springers Point. The house is very light and airy with ceiling fans to supplement the a/c when it's really hot. Always a cool oasis to come home to! Thank you for being my home away from home on an island that I love ❤️"

"August 2019 Stay
We had the best time in this wonderful house! It was close to Springers Point. The rooms are a nice size and the bathrooms are big. The tub was awesome! The porch was perfect. We sat there every morning and enjoyed coffee and a nice breeze, even on the hottest days. "

Mary Fisher Cottage is a lovely place. Spacious rooms and easy access to Springers Point and all that Ocracoke Island has to offer. "

"June 2017 Stay
My husband and I married by the lighthouse 25 yrs ago, had returned several times but last trip was in 2007. We were relieved that the island has not changed that much. Mary Fisher was wonderful- close to our Lighthouse and easy walking distance of shops, harbor, and restaurants. It is well-maintained, bright and airy. The screened in porch is large with a nice breeze. As with all homes on this side of island, neighbors are very close but it was always quiet at night and the one way street had less traffic. Only downside was no outdoor shower. However, we treasured our stay and it was special that our teenagers were with us as we renewed our vows. Ocracoke is always good for the soul ( and heart). "
