This home sits comfortably in the middle of a large, private yard, sheltered by many old cedars and oaks, with plenty of room for the kids to play. Spend the morning lounging on the large front screened porch with your coffee or a quiet afternoon reading in the hammock. Whether for a family gathering or simply getting away from it all, 'Better Days' is essential for the perfect vacation.
3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths: 1 with King, 1 with Queen, 1 with two Twins. First floor bath has a whirlpool tub.
Amenities include central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, and four cable TVs. Washer and dryer.
Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival.
Outdoor amenities include a large front screened porch, porch swing and rockers, backyard deck, enclosed hot/cold outdoor shower, gas grill and park style charcoal grill, hammock, fenced back yard and fish cleaning bench (No Water). Double kayak. Life jackets are not provided. If you wish to rent them, please get in touch with Ride The Wind Surf Shop. They will be happy to assist.
No Smoking. Pet Friendly. Limit of 2 Pets. Limit of 3 vehicles.
Military Discount Available. Discount can only be applied at the time of booking.
Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival.

We always have a great time on the island. Have been coming for the last 20 years. We have stayed in several different houses, and this one was not as nice as the others. There were several things that needed repair. I fixed a few of them. Maybe the other renters may not be reporting issues. Nice and comfy, but needs a little tlc. We love Ocracoke! I only wish that the lower steps leading to the inside (both in the front and in the back of the house) were lower. I have very arthritic knees and getting onto that first step is quite difficult.- Posted: 7/7/2024

We love Better Days and will continue to rent?. There is only one maintenance issue which needs to be addressed quickly, though. The dishwasher keeps pulling away from the counter and the trays fall out. It needs to be secured.- Posted: 6/30/2024

Great house very clean kitchen has everything you would need. You do need to open the closet in the bedroom that has the king bed. Ocracoke has a special magic, and we loved our stay again this year. OIR was easy to work with, and Better Days was exactly as described, perfect for our family and dogs. Well- equipped kitchen helped us produce some top-notch meals (with some help from Ocracoke fresh seafood).- Posted: 9/17/2023

Fourth time we’ve rented Better days. Unfortunately the house was in its worst shape. House had a terrible smell when we arrived. Floor was sandy. Dishes were dirty and every time something was used it had to be cleaned first including all of the silverware. Better Days was a wonderful house for our family vacation. We made great seafood meals in the large kitchen. We played card and board games on the front porch and dining room table. We ate a couple of meals on the back deck. It is in a great location. We spent much time at Ocracoke Coffee. We rented bikes and biked everywhere. The house is close to the beach, hiking trails, stores, restaurants and the brewery. My children even biked over for a yoga class nearby. This was one of our best family trips.
