Reminiscent of a New England style coastal cottage, the separate kitchen/living room and dining area add to the charm. Great for a small family or couples who enjoy privacy. 2 Bedrooms 1.5 Baths: 1 with Queen, 1 with Double. The full bath with tub/shower is located in the rear sleeping area. A half bath is located in the front living area.

Amenities include: Front living area offers a window air conditioning unit, electric fireplace, and 2 ceiling fans. The rear building offers wall AC units in bedrooms and electric baseboard heat in the den. Complimentary wireless internet access, 2 Roku TVs with access to Hulu. Washer and dryer.

The exterior offers two decks, screened porch, hot/cold outdoor shower and fish cleaning bench.

Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival.

No Dishwasher. Loft area is not available to guests.

No Smoking. No Pets Allowed. Limit of 2 cars.

Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival.

We love coming to Ocracoke and staying at Shrimp House. The beds are wonderful, the architecture, design, decor all capture the spirit of the island. Rain or shine we are always so happy to be there. The folks at OIR are always helpful. We loved the essential supplies bag this year. Thank you!!

As always, we had a wonderful time in Ocracoke this past week! The Shrimp House is a super cute cottage and very clean. The decor is the way I decorate so it felt like home. My only suggestion would be to update locks to a passcode. It took us awhile to open and lock the doors. You have to turn it gentle and just the right way to get it to lock or open. We also had to lock the cottage where the bedrooms are from the outside each night and go in through the screened porch. You could not securely lock from the inside. We were frustrated a few times. After we got the hang of it- we felt better and more secure leaving our things in the house. This is just a suggestion but I felt it important enough to share with you.

We love Shrimp House. We would love it more if a small, drawer style or apartment style dishwasher were installed. But that won't keep us from coming back. We applaud the owners for creating a comfortable beach retreat with wonderful art and decor. Whether it rains or shines we are always happy to be at Shrimp House.
