This wonderful Sound Shores home on Ocracoke Island has beautiful sound and marsh views from the second floor deck and cupola. Tastefully decorated and featuring a large open floor plan Saltmeadow is ideal for family gatherings. This home is further complimented by a second floor sitting area and third floor cupola. Generous decks and screened porch complete this island vacation home.

3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths: Primary bedroom with King Bed, 1 with Queen Bed, 1 with two Twin Beds. There is a whirlpool tub in the primary bath.

Amenities include central air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, 4 cable TVs, and stereo with surround sound. Washer and dryer.

Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival.

The exterior offers a screened porch, decks, hot/cold outdoor shower, park style charcoal grill, picnic table and fish cleaning bench.

No Smoking. No Pets Allowed. Limit of 3 vehicles.

Military Discount Available. Discount can only be applied at time of booking.

Short Stays are available; there is a three-night minimum, and these stays can be booked within two weeks of arrival.

First Floor: Open kitchen, dining and living area with TV. Bedroom with Queen Bed, TV. Bedroom with two Twin Beds, TV. Shared Bath with tub/shower. Laundry Room with attached Half Bath.

Second Floor: Primary Bedroom with King Bed, TV, and Primary Bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower. Sitting Area with sink.

Third Floor: Tower Room with table.

We love staying at the Saltmeadow. It's such a comfy and well appointed house. The only negative of the trip was the very late check-in. We didn't get in until about 4:58pm. We fully understand that a 5pm check in is assured but we have found over the almost 30 years we've been renting with OI, that this has never been the case. We understand work was being done on the outside of the house but we see no reason why we couldn't have been able to get inside. If there is work being scheduled on the house and there will most likely be a late check in, it would be prudent to notify the renters of this so they can plan their trip to the island accordingly. We have always been very happy with OI Realty, but were disappointed this time.

We're hoping the owners of the Saltmeadow cottage will upgrade their entertainment system in living room. Tv is very poor quality- difficulty to use (there are 3 remotes you have to use). The wiring under the house is all corroded and the connection to the internet is not very good. We do love the house and the location though. (A few roaches this time too)

Thank you for your feedback, expecially in regard to the electronics. We will see what we can do to make that a simpler process. Reliable internet service on the island is a constant struggle, but please know that we do have an open signal at the rentals office anytime you need access. In addition, all of our homes are on professional pest control, but we will give tehm a call for an interim treatment. Thank you for choosing to stay with us and we hope to see you again soon.

We had a wonderful stay at Saltmeadow! The house was very clean, roomy, and comfortable! We loved the decks and the spacious kitchen/dining area! Overall a great stay and would definitely stay in this home again!

Exceptional house. Perfect for our family reunion — airy, clean, well equipped, quiet, peaceful with a great view from the veranda. Recommend it for those who want to relax and enjoy the treasures of Ocracoke.

We have been to the island 7 out of the last 10 summers and love Ocracoke. This trip was cut quite a bit short due to Idalia. We decided to leave on Wednesday since we have two small children and didn’t want to risk making them be stuck without power or trapped by any flooding that could’ve happened. Our house had two cockroaches that we found on Tuesday morning before we left, one of them ended up in my sock that I left on the floor the night before. The cockroaches made our decision to leave a bit easier. We know this was a one-off year and hope the next time we visit will be a more pleasant trip to Ocracoke.
