Minnow is a sound front efficiency cottage for just two people. Located on Northern Pond, Minnow welcomes you to pamper yourself in the water view from the large screened porch or simply relax in the luxury of your private sandy beach. The Minnow offers an excellent location for kayaking, kite boarding or just hanging out. Enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the Pamlico Sound.

This home offers a rare opportunity for sound front accommodations for those not requiring a large home and sits next to the owner's home. Convenient, yet off the beaten path in a pleasant waterfront neighborhood enjoy a convenient short walk or bike ride to Silver Lake Harbor.

1 Bedroom, 1 Bath: This studio cottage offers a sleeping area with King bed, open living, dining and kitchen area and 1 Bath with tub/shower.

Amenities include central heat/air and ceiling fans, complimentary wireless internet access, and cable TV which rotates to be seen in both the living and bedroom. Stack washer/dryer.

Sheets and towels are provided. Beds are made for your arrival.

Exterior offers a large sound view screened porch with both dining table and seating area, hammock, sandy beach, hot/cold outdoor shower, charcoal grill and fish cleaning bench. 2 person kayak. Life jackets are not provided, if you wish to rent them, please contact Ride The Wind Surf Shop. They will be happy to assist.

No Dishwasher.

No Smoking. No Boat Dock. No Motor Boat Anchorage. Limit of 1 vehicle.

Great location with easy access to everything on the island. Would recommend getting a golf cart from Wheelie Fun. Makes getting around & parking easier. Plus keeps you quiet more immersed with the island.

Thanks for your feedback! Peaceful is the perfect way to describe Ocracoke in December, but the majority of eateries, gift shops, etc. are closed till Spring or have limited off season hours. If you'd like to visit when everything is up and running, come stay with us sometime between April and October. No matter what time of year you decide to visit, we're glad to see you!

A great week at the Minnow! Weather was perfect. A little rainy a couple of days, but beautiful and windy others. We read so much, never turned on the tv, biked, went to the beach a lot, went to see a sea turtle nest excavation went to Springer's Point, shopped a little, went to a beach fire with ghost stories, enjoyed the hot tub, and napped everyday! Stayed here last year and have reserved it for next year too. We love the peacefulness and quietness here.

So many pleasant surprises at the Minnow! New cedar shake exteroir - won't it be enchanting to watch it weather into an authentic beach cottage? Sparkly new shower with fun cutouts and lovely framed mirror. The new clothesline - I want one! I'd only seen pulley clothesline in the movies between apartment buildings, so fun to put one in action - all from the convienience of a step. New efficient dish drainer. So relieved the hot tub has made it into another season. Fingers crossed for next year. We've thoroughly enjoyed our 14th year at the Minnow. Here's an activity we tried last year - we boarded the Ocracoke Express passenger ferry and rode bikes to Hatteras - a more thrilling ride than a car ferry. We went to Graveyard of the Atlantic Museum, ate lunch at Tiki Bar in Hatteras Landing. Lovely place for lunch. Rode our bikes around Hatteras Village, caught the late ferry back. Glad we did it. Once is enough. New king-size mattress. So comfy! Pleasant dreams!

Year #6 for staying at the Minnow. 4 weeks of heaven! We had a great time visiting and being visited by friends we have made over the years. We beached- Dr. Beach knows his stuff! We spent many hours just enjoying our meals with the accompanying view from the back porch. Fish from the fish house with the back porch view is faboulous! The fireworks were awesome as seen from our back. We also took a daytrip to see the restored buildings and the bouy demonstration at teh Chicamacomico Life Saving Station. Fascinating . I highly suggest reading Fire on the Beach by David Wright. It is about Richard Etheridge and the Pea Island Life Saving Station. Thank you for sharing your special place with us.
