Built in 1920, this iconic property has been home to a variety of businesses over the years, including a gift store, deli and ice cream shop. Now it can be your home away from home! The original storefront facade with charming front porch has been carefully preserved, but inside you'll find modern finishes and furnishings that are both stylish and comfortable. The back side of the home consists of an open-concept great room with updated kitchen and LVP flooring throughout, along with two bedrooms including a primary with Queen and ensuite bath, and second with twin bed with trundle. The front half offers a third bedroom with Queen bed, second full bath and a rec room with ping pong table for indoor entertainment. Albert's By The Lighthouse welcomes pets, so even your furry family members can join you on the dog-friendly beaches of Ocracoke. Complimentary Starlink satellite internet service allows everyone to stream their favorite shows on smart TV's or personal devices.

True to it's name, Albert's By The Lighthouse is situated on Lighthouse Road, just a three-minute walk to Ocracoke Lighthouse. You'll also be just a short walk or bike ride to Silver Lake Harbor and all the locally owned businesses that make this island community a one-of-a-kind destination. Be sure to set aside a day to explore the nearby Springer's Point Preserve, where nature lovers can spend the day hiking and bird watching in this 120-acre Maritime forest.

Our stay at Albert's was absolutely wonderful! This rental property perfectly captured the charm and tranquility of the island while offering all the comforts of home. The house was clean, beautifully maintained, and tastefully decorated with coastal touches that made it feel warm and inviting. The cozy living room and vintage game room were our favorite spots to relax, read books, put together puzzles and enjoy some ping pong. The kitchen had everything we needed, which made preparing meals a breeze. The location was ideal. We were just a short walk or bike ride from the harbor, Springer's point, local shops and restaurants, yet the property itself felt private and peaceful. Watching sunsets or stargazing in the evenings was truly magical. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in Ocracoke, I can’t recommend this property enough. It’s the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and island charm. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

We loved the house and will stay here again! The game room was excellent! I have a picture of my daughters on the front porch when we used to visit when it was a store. Awesome to be able to stay in a house with so much history. And when the internet was out all over the island one afternoon, we weren't phased thanks to this house having Starlink. The only thing we didn't like was the side door in the living area that wouldn't latch correctly. Our husky managed to escape out the door one night and we had to chase her down.

We are so glad you enjoyed Albert's by the Lighthouse - it is such a unique property! So sorry about your dog escaping, we will definitley send one of our mainteannce techs over to repair the latch. The starlink is definitely the best internet option on this island for just the reasons you mentioned! So glad you had a great stay and look forward to seeing you again next year.

The house was beautiful and worked well for my family of 4! Everything was clean, the layout was minimalist and open, and the location was perfect. We really loved the dining table. We had two issues upon arrival, (the front door was stuck and wouldn’t open, and there was no external outlet to charge the golf cart we rented), but maintenance was quick to respond to the issues and resolve them. The only other thing I thought potential renters may want to know is that the kitchen is not yet well stocked in terms of supplies and spices and what not. It certainly was not advertised as having them, but as long time renters, we have grown accustomed to using these types of kitchen supplies, and then we are happy to leave our “leftover” supplies to the house/next renters. BY NO MEANS a dealbreaker, but it’s just helpful info for the next folks. We had a wonderful week in this house and lots of fun in the game room. We highly recommend and would love to stay here again!

Stayed at Albert's by the lighthouse in August. The house was wonderful!!! It was spacious and had everything you need for a family vacation. We relaxed all day at the beach, then enjoyed dinner and family games at the house in the evening. Sitting on porch at end of the day was great.
