Enjoy your island getaway in this well-maintained, two-story Ocracoke cottage. Nestled in quiet Widgeon Woods, you will feel completely removed from the stresses of everyday life. Just a short walk or bike ride to the Lighthouse, Springer's Point Nature Preserve, Silver Lake Harbor, and many local shops, galleries, and restaurants.

Three Bedrooms, 2 with Queen, 1 with 2 Twins. 2 Full and one Half Bath.

Amenities include complimentary wireless Internet access, and cable TVs. Window air conditioning. Baseboard heat on first level only. Ceiling fans. Washer and dryer.

The exterior offers a large screened porch with a picnic table and a deck that adds to your outdoor enjoyment. The rooftop observation deck provides a lovely view of the Island from above the tree-tops. Feel the breezes and watch the sunset into the sound. Hot/cold outdoor shower.

Excellent service but the cabin really needs a lighting upgrade. Very dark minimal lighting with brighter bulbs needed throughout. Kitchen table seats are silly low compared to the table.

Overall, the house was great. There was no grill, as described, and housecleaning could do a little better (cobwebs over sink in bathroom, upstairs bedrooms not cleaned particularly well). But, things were doable, so no big complaints!

The Hartlaub Cottage was clean and much roomier than expected. We loved the crow's nest. The 360 view was spectacular. Cottage needs some work. Electrical issues. Breaker tripped multiple times a day in one section of the place.

Need new sturdier larger outdoor trash cans. Also. need an electrician to check ie loose outlet(s), lamp in living room bulb comes out of socket. Otherwise the house was perfect for us, a lot of character
