Stay Safe and Enjoy a Wonderful Stay on Ocracoke Island
These actions can help protect our families, neighbors, and visitors while in Phase 2.5 of North Carolina’s Covid-19 three-phased approach to lifting restrictions.
Once you reach your destination, it is time to relax.
Bikes and golf carts are a popular and relaxing way to travel to Ocracoke Village. Get some Fresh Air on Ocracoke Island.
For Bike Rentals. Beach Outfitters is conveniently located next door to our Ocracoke Island Realty Rental Office, offering rental of adult and children’s bikes. Adult bikes can be outfitted with child trailers or baby seats. Beach and cottage items are also available for rent. Add items when making your new vacation reservation. Stop by or call in advance, delivery is available.
Ocracoke Island Golf Carts and Wheelie Fun Golf Carts are the two businesses on Ocracoke that specialize in golf cart rentals. Visit their website, give them a call, or stop by their office. Advance reservations are available and recommended in peak season. Ask about convenient cart delivery and pick-up.
Under State of North Carolina Covid-19 Phase 2.5 restrictions, limited seating restaurant dining is available at several restaurants. You will find outdoor on-site dining available at others. There is a great selection of restaurants offering take-out meals for dining at home. Some restaurants are offering curbside service and even delivery.
You will find Howard’s Pub, Plum Pointe Kitchen, Jason’s and Dajio offering dine in, takeout and outdoor seating.
Take-out and delivery is available at Sorella’s Pizza & Pasta and Flying Melon. Flying Melon offers picnic tables. Helios’ Hideaway offers online take-out ordering. Thai Moon is serving delicious take-out meals.
Take-out and outdoor seating is available at Eduardo’s Taco Stand, SmacNally’s, Back Porch Lunch Box, Fig Tree Deli and Taqueria 504 Suazo’s. Old Salt Sandwiches and Such is now open and located in their new spot next to the Variety Store with take-out and picnic tables available. Pony Island Restaurant and Ocracoke Oyster Company are open and offer outdoor seating and takeout.
Check out the new Back Porch Market located at the Back Porch Restaurant and Wine Bar. Schedule and Market offerings can be found on their Facebook page. Produce by Celeste is located in front of the Native Seafood building, featuring farm fresh produce every Saturday morning.
Magic Bean Coffee Bazaar and Ocracoke Coffee Company are both open for take-out and outdoor seating. The Slushy Stand, Ocracoke Fudge & Ice Cream Shop, Hang Ten Smoothies and Sweet Tooth are open.
1718 Brewing is open with indoor and outdoor seating. Zillie’s is offering deck seating.
Stop by Ocracoke Seafood Company (The Fish House) for seafood straight from the Working Watermen’s dock.
The Ocracoke Variety Store, hardware store, and ABC Store are open!
The Anchorage Marina is open for the 2020 season. You will find the charter boats Cap’n B (Drum Stick crew), Gecko Sportfishing and Dream Girl Fishing Charters fishing the Gulf Stream and waters off Ocracoke Island. Rent a skiff with Restless Native Boat Rentals and you are the captain! Across from the Berkley Manor you will find the Laura Linn. Southwind Charters is available for inshore fishing.
Tradewinds Tackle is open for your fishing and beach supplies.
Enjoy the unique shops and galleries throughout Ocracoke Village. Bella Fiore, Down Creek Gallery, Books to be Red, Ocracoke Island Trading Company, Over the Moon, Island Ragpicker, Island Artworks, Ride the Wind Surf Shop, Village Craftsmen, Pirates Chest, Ocracoke Garden Center, The Sunglass Shop on Ocracoke, Moonraker’s Tea Shop, Annabelle’s Antiques, Harborside Gift Shop, Kitty Hawk Kites, and Sunflower Studio are open.

Opening at a later time will be Mermaid’s Folly and Captain’s Cargo.
Ride the Wind Surf shop offers rentals of single and tandem kayaks, standup paddleboards, surfboards, skimboards, and bodyboards. Beach Rides Rentals offers 4×4 Rentals. OBX Rentals & Shuttle Services offers beach shuttle services and beach equipment setup.
Schooner Windfall is sailing. At this time Captain Rob is sailing with up to 6 passengers, all in the same group.
Portsmouth Island ATVs is open, offering shelling and fishing trips to the new inlet cut out by Dorian and sandbar trips. ATV trips will not be available in 2020.
Portsmouth Island Boat Tours is offering trips to Portsmouth and also boat tours of the surrounding islands.

Ocracoke Community Library is open at Deepwater Theater on School Road. Masks are required and patrons are limited.
While North Carolina’s initial Covid-19 restrictions are in place, we encourage everyone visiting Ocracoke Island to pack your face coverings and bring hand sanitizer. Ocracoke Island Realty offers a paper product starter pack. Please consider packing essential paper products and other necessary items, just in case the island experiences changes in product availability.
